2048 A.D

A sublime dystopia, live and real-time
Audiovisual generative performance

2048 A.D. is a real-time generative audiovisual performance by 1024 architecture that imagines a future Earth marked by ecological collapse and digital desolation. This 45-minute immersive experience combines live electronic music, laser mapping, and algorithmically generated visuals to construct a speculative world where natural landscapes have vanished—replaced by surreal, arid, and post-human environments.

Premiered as a live performance, the piece draws visual and conceptual influence from the experimental film Koyaanisqatsi, using slow cinematic pacing and atmospheric tension to reflect on overconsumption, climate breakdown, and the long-term effects of human inaction. A thin red laser line, constantly scanning the space, serves as a visual thread that maps the fractured ruins of a forgotten world—simultaneously a guide and a witness.

2048 A.D. is not only a technological feat but a poetic reflection on the fragility of ecosystems and the urgency of our times. By blending digital art with environmental storytelling, 1024 architecture turns speculative fiction into sensory activism—inviting audiences to experience the consequences of the Anthropocene through sound, light, and data.

This work exemplifies the studio’s commitment to crafting immersive, thought-provoking performances at the intersection of art, science, and ecological awareness.
