24 Lines
24 Lines is a monumental light installation created specifically for the entrance hall of La Panacée, the contemporary art center in Montpellier. Designed by 1024 architecture, this immersive, site-specific sculpture transforms the architectural space into a dynamic environment that blends light, material, and movement.
The installation is composed of 24 arches, crafted from oxidized metal, natural wood, bichromate collars, and flexible neon light tubes. These arches span the hall like a luminous skeleton, animating the space with programmed light sequences that pulse in harmony with the site’s exhibitions, public events, and visitor flow.
More than a decorative feature, 24 Lines acts as a living organ within the building—its light patterns respond to the rhythm of cultural life, subtly guiding circulation while enhancing the ambiance of the space. The result is a responsive lighting sculpture that redefines public space as a fluid, interactive canvas.
By weaving together architectural lighting, contemporary design, and immersive art, 24 Lines invites visitors to experience the intersection of art, architecture, and urban rhythm in a new and captivating way.
